What are Federal Tax credits for Energy Efficiency?
These tax credits are for Colorado homeowners that purchase and
install specific energy saving products in their homes between January
1, 2007 and December 31, 2007. These tax credits would be applicable on
your 2007 and 2007 tax return. Consult with a qualified tax advisor for
full eligibility requirements. A tax credit can provide substantial
savings. It reduces the amount of income tax you have to pay, if you owe
at the end of the year. If you are getting a refund, you could increase
your refund amount by up to $500!

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ENERGY TAX INCENTIVES ACT
The Energy Tax Incentives Act:
- Provides a consumer tax credit up to $500 for 10% of the cost of
qualified remodeling projects that improve the energy efficiency of
an existing home—including replacement windows.
- Allows $200 of the $500 total credit to be attributed to
replacement windows.
- Applies to improvements made after December 31, 2005.
